NEWPORT County’s final tune-up for their League Two campaign will be a home clash with Stoke Under-23s.
The Exiles will entertain the Potters’ youngsters on Saturday, July 28 (kick-off 3pm) at either Rodney Parade or Newport Stadium.
The pitch at the former, which is home to County, the Dragons and Newport RFC, is currently being renovated ahead of 2018/19.
It is expected to be good to go for the weekend of the Stoke encounter but a firm decision will be made closer to the date.
New Stoke boss Gary Rowett will be with his seniors in Germany on the weekend of the County game, taking on Bundesliga 2 outfit St Pauli. The Exiles will go up against Potters prospects coached by Wade Elliot.
Michael Flynn’s side start their preparations against Championship side Bristol City in Newport on Wednesday, July 11 (kick-off 7.30pm) in a clash that is highly likely to be at Spytty Park.
They travel to Undy AFC on Friday, July 13 (kick-off 7pm), Chippenham Town on Saturday, July 14 (kick-off 3pm), Penybont FC on Wednesday, July 18 (kick-off 7pm), and Hereford FC on Saturday, July 21 (kick-off 3pm).
