ENGLAND boss Eddie Jones is confident that his mixture of youth and experience has what it takes to turn over Wales in Sunday’s summer tour tune-up at Twickenham.

The hosts’ XV features ten players that took to the field in the 25-21 win against Wales en route to a Grand Slam.

The Aviva Premiership final deprives them of their Saracens and Exeter contingent – Owen Farrell, Jack Nowell, Maro Itoje, George Kruis, Billy Vunipola, Mako Vunipola and Luke Cowan-Dickie from the March win.

Jones is set to hand Test debuts to four players with Northampton’s Teimana Harrison starting at blindside and spots on the bench for Wasps-bound Sale hooker Tommy Taylor, Exeter-bound Bath centre Ollie Devoto and Leicester loosehead Ellis Genge.

“We’ve picked a side we believe can beat Wales,” said the head coach, who takes his squad to Australia next month. “It’s a good mixture of experience and youth.

“Obviously we have a number of players missing from the squad who are taking part in the Premiership final but this provides us with a great opportunity to expose other players to Test rugby.

“This will serve to strengthen the squad’s depth as we move towards the 2019 World Cup.

“We’ve prepared well this week and I’m pleased with the progress the squad have made in the short time we’ve had together. There’s been plenty of energy and enthusiasm and you can tell the lads have enjoyed being back in camp."

Wales name their side at 11am.
