Newport 20 Bedwas 31 match report
I've been on Parade from the 60s standing on the old wooden sleeper steps of the old Corpa stand but I think this will be my last of supporting in body.
It's just too hard to take the same old disjointed performances throwing games away week after week , with just 2 or 3 players standing out.
With regularly having almost the worst defensive record in the division, how can these coaches still be there? is there an addenda?

Responsibility starts at the top with the coach who has had 4 years to make a good team at Newport RFC. If I did such a poor job in my workplace I would not last 6 months, let alone 4 years, so the people employing the coaching team at Newport RFC much also share the blame for Newport RFC current predicament.

Gareth Davies: Dragons must embrace Gwent to prosper
The experiment to have a Gwent Dragons team has been tried and failed. It lasted less than 3 weeks before it went bust and was replaced by Newport Gwent Dragons which is a compromise which suits a few. Just prior to the regionalisation, the previous Newport team had had some success, averaged crowds of over 8000 and nearly 12000 for the big games agaist Bath and Leinster and those were not all people from within the Newport town area alone. The creation of the compromise has polarised opinion in a way which it was not previously apart from the odd extremist and there seems no way forward. If you alienate the Newport based supporters who went along with the compromise you will struggle to replace them with equal numbers from elsewhere and be left with even less support. It is noticeable how little merchandise now makes reference to Newport and the board is mistaken if it thinks existing supporters have not noticed. Tony Brown assured the previous Newport supporters that the Region would represent them, that they would be listened to over issues like team colours etc but that is looking less and less to be the case. The board needs to make its direction clear. If it wants to drop the Newport tag, be honest about it and give due notice so that people can make their mind up which way to jump. The Regional model will largely be irrelevant if the european competition does not provide the required income and that may force a complete rethink about how we organise ourselves for the future.

Lyn Jones looks to awaken "sleeping giants" Dragons
" Sleeping giants! lol The implication that they have ever been giants. lol”
OddJob - you appear to be mocking the "sleeping giants" reference. LJ's reference only makes sense as a reference to Gwent rugby as a whole i.e. Newport , Pontypool , Ebbw Vale and the rest , whose collective achievements over the years are quite impressive to me. The Dragons have not been around long enough to have a history or to fall asleep. Everything LJ has said on this subject indicates that he regards this "region" and "Gwent" as synonymous. "Dragons" is the convenient current label for this region.
Are you saying that the joint contributions of all the Gwent clubs over the years to Welsh Rugby does not justify calling this region a giant? If so, then we will have to agree to differ.

Reaction to ultimatum for Gwent’s top cop
ah an ex copper who made chief superintendent, I wonder does he think his PCC position makes him "psuedo chief constable" responsible for the day to day running of Gwent police.
I would like to know in what way this when this low moral manifests itself and when started.
No problem with the PCC having the power to do it, just the questions above. Sounds like a personality clash to me
I did think at the election stage ex police and ex politicians should be barred from the post, to avoid possible conflict / interference.
Finally is there a way to remove a PCC ?
