IF you are looking for a sleek and stylish base to discover London’s myriad delights that won’t break the bank, then Aparthotels Adagio’s first location in the capital in Brentford takes some beating, as IWAN GABE DAVIES discovered.

Within reasonable reach of the capital’s centre and boasting chic and generously sized apartments, the recently opened Aparthotels Adagio London Brentford offers a welcome and idiosyncratic addition to the enormous choice of accommodation the world’s greatest city has to offer.

And with room packages starting from £59 per night, it presents outstanding value.

The 100 redesigned apartments – following the rebrand of another aparthotel at Kew Eye Tower – all feature a fully equipped kitchen, spacious bedroom, living area with flat screen smart TVs.

Guests will also have access to a bar, virtual concierge, fitness centre, laundry facilities, business services and onsite parking.

I stayed with my wife and 16-year-old daughter recently and we loved it here.

It has a cosy and safe feel to it, with comfortable beds, spotless and tastefully designed rooms and a cool bathroom.

The self-service breakfast is a fantastic treat, with a choice of a cooked breakfast with scrambled egg, bacon and hash browns as well as pastries, cake, fruit, cheese and hams.

The staff are also wonderful and friendly and do their best to make you feel at home.

If you are venturing into central London, South Ealing Tube station, on the Piccadilly is just a 10-15 minute walk away or a short hop on the 65 bus which stops nearby.

The world-famous Kew Gardens are just a mile from the Aparthotels Adagio and the trendy Chiswick High Road is just a little further away.

Family-friendly attractions such as Windsor Castle and the Legoland Windsor Resort are also within easy driving distance.

It could make the perfect digs for sports fans as Wembley Stadium is just some 25 minutes down the road.

With its location in the west, the aparthotel is close to London Heathrow Airport, the Thames Valley and M4 business hubs and just over two hours’ drive from South Wales.

Getting there: My family and I were fortunate to travel in some style by train with Great Western Railway in first class from Cardiff Central to London Paddington which took just over two hours. The first class experience is a luxurious one with the added attraction of complimentary soft drinks, tea, coffee, snacks and national newspapers. GWR services between South Wales and London leave regularly. To book tickets, please go to www.gwr.com. The Tube from Paddington to South Ealing takes about half an hour.
