A DAY jam-packed with educational fun is taking place on Saturday at Gwent Levels.
It will be between 10am and 4pm, as part of Cadw’s open doors month and part of the Living Levels Programme.
There will be a time travel trail, taking guests on a journey through history. Plus, the day will feature demonstrations from local groups, including the Black Rock Lave Net fishermen, and the traditional craftsmen of the Coracle Society.
Visitors can search for artefacts in the mud of the Severn Estuary, with experts on hand to explain origins.
There will also be a short guided walk to the top of the Church Tower and spire in St Mary’s, in Nash, and the chance to discover the fascinating history of East Usk Lighthouse. ”
This event is free, although there is a £3 parking charge at Newport Wetlands.
