TIME is running out to nominate someone in your community for a Pride of Gwent Award.
With less than two weeks to go until the deadline, those looking to highlight the work of individuals and groups near them should do so quickly.
Do you know someone like Torrie Duke, one of the winners from last year’s awards?
Torrie Duke with the 2018 Pride of Gwent Life Saver Award
Miss Duke accepted last year’s Pride of Gwent Life Saver Award, which was sponsored by Newport’s Friars Walk and the Kingsway.
There were tears when she took to the stage with her dad Craig who had just had his last dose of chemotherapy the night before the awards.
Miss Duke, eight at the time, helped save her dad when he collapsed due to a brain tumour.
She called for help at 2am and was able to let her grandmother in the house to help her dad.
If you know of someone like Miss Duke, who goes above and beyond, puts others before themselves and really makes a difference in their community, then why not nominate them for a Pride of Gwent award this year?

Nominations close on May 3.
