THIS weekend Paddle Round the Pier returns to the seaside.

With hundreds expected to flock to the beach in Brighton for the annual event, here is all you need to know about this year’s activities.

The Paddle Round the Pier marquee will be set up on Hove Lawns both on Saturday and Sunday and is free to enter.

As well as all the action in the water the Lawns themselves will host plenty of fun activities.

Music will be playing on stages across the weekend and there will be workshops in singing, dancing and being active.

Today sees Paddle’s annual kitesurfing competition return to the water, where you will be able to see some spectacular stunts and tricks from trained professionals.

The main attraction, The Big Paddle, takes place tomorrow at 3pm, where participants will take to the water and make the journey around the West Pier.

Before that the Paddle Something Unusual gives those who are less confident on the water the chance to race their own makeshift rafts around the pier.

If you want to bring your dog down for a dip in the sea then the dog paddle takes place at 11am tomorrow.

No major bus routes are expected to be disrupted because of the event, but Brighton and Hove Buses is running a special shuttle to Paddle HQ from Brighton Station.

The bus leaves Brighton Station on the hour between 10am and 12pm and then from 2pm to 6pm; returning from Paddle HQ at Hove Lawns on the half hour between 10.30am and 11.30am and 1.30pm to 6.30pm.
