A SUSPECTED drug driver has been arrested after two cars crashed in Farnworth.

A white Mercedes and red Skoda smashed head on in Highfield Road shortly before 4pm yesterday.

The impact left both cars badly damaged and debris scattered across the roadway near to the junction with Marsh Lane.

The driver of the Mercedes was arrested on suspicion of drug driving offences following the crash.

Police are now appealing for anyone with any information about the incident to come forward.

In a tweet, GMP Traffic said: "If anyone witnessed the events leading up to the collision or has dashcam. Please contact 12136@gmp.police.uk."
