PUPILS from schools across Basingstoke have taken part in a day of fundraising by showing off their maddest hair styles.

As part of St Michael’s Hospice’s Mad Hair Day, schools including Winklebury, Oakridge and Manor Field took part in the charity day, which coincided with the last day before February half term.

Pupils were displaying their most bonkers barnets as part of the annual fundraising event.

The St. Michael’s Hospice fundraising team also took to the Basingstoke Malls to encourage shoppers to do something crazy with their hair for charity.

Although the funds are yet to be totted up, organisers anticipate this year’s total will top £8,000.

Lynne Grimshaw, Community Campaigns Coordinator, said: “We have seen some amazing creations this year and we are blown away by the support we’ve received. Thank you to everyone who got involved and helped to make Mad Hair Day 2020 one to really remember.”
