CAR owners got a chance to test the going when a group converged on Chepstow Racecourse ahead of a motor show in June.

The drivers of a range of cars preparing to get under way at the show agreed the going was good as they assembled near the winner's enclosure at the course in the Wye Valley.

The car show is being organised by St David's Hospice Care to raise funds for the Newport-based hospice which cares for patients throughout south east Wales.

The South Wales Car Festival will showcase supercars, classics and music is to be staged at Chepstow Racecourse on Sunday June 14, between 11am and 6pm.

Organiser Franca Nigro, of St David's Hospice care, said: "The event has really caught people's interest, classic car owners and also the public so it's looking like it's going to be a huge success.

"I'd like to thank Simon MacDonald, of Pure Solutions, for being so instrumental with his support in helping to organise the event.

“As well as a dazzling array of vehicles on display on the day we will also have bars, street food, a kids' corner, funfair, live music, entertainment, VIP area, crafts staffs, local produce and much more. It’ll be a great day out in a fabulous setting for the entire family. ”

Although the food and beverages stalls have now been confirmed, St David’s Hospice Care is still looking to book the following: exhibitors, motor/vehicle traders and suppliers, craft and local produce stalls.
