Bolton’s seven-day coronavirus infection rate has dropped below 200 per 100,000 residents, according to latest figures.
175 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the borough over Friday and Saturday, the latest government figures have shown.
In the seven days to September 17 Bolton’s rate has dropped to 187.8 per 100,000 people, down from 213.2 for the seven days to September 10.
Bolton continues to record the highest rate in England.
In the seven days up to September 16, Kearsley and Stoneclough recorded the most positive cases in Bolton, with 32 confirmed cases.
The next highest was recorded in Harper Green where there were 29 cases confirmed.
The areas with the lowest number of cases recorded in this time were Westhoughton West, which recorded between 0-2 cases and Doffcocker with Moss Bank which recorded three cases.
No further coronavirus deaths were recorded at Royal Bolton Hospital but a further 18 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday in the rest UK.
Overall 3,866 Bolton residents have tested positive for the virus.
