The importance of marketing to businesses in a post-Brexit world will be top of the agenda at the next meeting of the City of Newport Business Club.

Guest speaker at the club’s March 7 meeting at the Celtic Manor Resort, which starts at 5.30pm, will be James Delves, the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s head of PR and external engagement.

At CIM, Mr Delves is responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of public relations, public affairs, research, social and content marketing.

He is currently heading up CIM’s Export Ready campaign, which looks to advise and promote exporting opportunities to the UK’s SME community, pre, during and post Brexit.

Last year, CIM and Pricewaterhouse Coopers Research collaborated to define, not merely the size and impact of the UK marketing industry in terms of jobs and revenues, but also to understand the challenges and opportunities inherent in export markets.

The research details the critical role marketing plays in not only highlighting opportunities in new markets but also in putting together the strategies for building relationships and business growth.

Mr Delves will take attendees through the key findings and discuss the opportunities and barriers the findings pose - especially in light of Brexit.

Tickets to hear Mr Delves are available now on the City of Newport Business Club’s website – newportbusinessclub.co.uk
