Developer St Modwen has submitted a next-phase planning application to build a further 203 homes at its Glan Llyn site in Newport.

Subject to planning consent being granted, work is expected to start on-site later in 2019, with a view to completing the homes by 2023.

These will include a range of different house designs, boasting a mix of two, three and four bedroom houses at both sites.

Steven Ingham, technical manager for St Modwen Homes, said: “We are very excited at the prospect of expanding the Glan Llyn community and bringing 203 new St Modwen homes to Newport.

"Having already built and completed a total of 225 homes at Glan Llyn, we are contributing towards much-needed housing in South Wales, in line with our commitment to providing high quality homes that really stand out from the competition.”

Glan Llyn is being developed using a phased approach to deliver up to 4,000 new homes.

The 600-acre site will also provide a new local centre offering leisure and retail space, together with the site providing new education facilities and an abundance of extensive open parkland.
