MORGAN Stoddart goes in search of a first Principality Premiership win as Cross Keys head coach on Thursday night when the Pandy Park outfit lock horns with Neath at the Gnoll (kick-off 7.30pm).

Former Wales international Stoddart began his tenure as Keys chief after Greg Woods’ reign ended following the National Cup defeat of Pontypridd last month.

Keys started life without Woods by easing to a 41-7 victory over Bedlinog on Saturday, as Stoddart’s men reached the quarter-finals of the cup.

Thursday's Premiership bow in the Keys hot-seat for ex-Scarlets back Stoddart sees him make three changes in personnel to the XV that lined up to face Bedlinog last weekend.

In the forwards, props Gary Carpenter and Scott Evans, who pack down either side of hooker Darren Hughes, replace Corey Hewlett and Richard Cornock respectively.

There is one change in the backs as centre Lewis Barnett, who crossed twice against the Foxes, misses out due to a back injury.

That has prompted a reshuffle with Corey Shephard coming in at fly-half, Josh Prosser switching to full-back and Leon Andrews taking Barnett’s place.

On the bench, Keys include Joe Thomas who could make his comeback from a knee injury suffered earlier in the season.

The second part of the league season got under way on December 30, with Keys losing heavily at Merthyr and Neath taking a beating by Bargoed.

Cross Keys: J Prosser; M Powell, L Andrews, P Williams, N Trowbridge; C Shephard, J Leadbeater; G Carpenter, D Hughes, S Evans, T Lampard, L Dyckhoff, J Skinner, S Matthews (capt), A Powell.

Reps: R Jones, C Hewlett, R Cornock, L Davies, J Thomas, B Snell, R Pritchard, B Nightingale.

Meanwhile, Ebbw Vale’s National Cup second round tie away to Bridgend has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 13 (kick-off 7.30pm).

The match was supposed to take place last Saturday but couldn’t because of a waterlogged Brewery Field pitch.

The winners of game know they will travel to Bargoed in the last eight on Saturday, March 3.
