WALES wing/full-back Hallam Amos has been released from Six Nations camp to boost the Dragons for Sunday’s Guinness PRO14 game against Benetton at Rodney Parade (kick-off 3.30pm).

The 23-year-old was man of the match in last Friday’s 15-15 draw with title hopefuls Glasgow in Newport on his return from an ankle injury suffered against Cardiff Blues on Boxing Day.

The 15-times capped speedster will aim to put in another strong display against the Italians to give head coach Warren Gatland a nudge for next weekend’s Six Nations clash in Ireland.

His cause is slightly hindered by a six-day turnaround to the clash at the Aviva Stadium but his prowess under the high ball would be welcome against the kicking game of Conor Murray and Jonathan Sexton.

Wales are also without Northampton’s George North, Worcester’s Josh Adams and Saracens’ Liam Williams at their Vale Resort training base this week.

World Rugby rules mean that players have to be released back to their Aviva Premiership clubs in non-Test weeks while the agreement with the four regions means Wales-based players stay in camp.

Gatland is mulling over changes to his back three after fielding Gareth Anscombe at full-back and Adams and Steff Evans on the wings in the 12-6 loss to England last weekend when the champions dominated the aerial battle.

North, recently back from a knee problem, made an impression off the bench while Leigh Halfpenny is expected to be fit after being a late withdrawal with a foot infection with Anscombe a contender for the start at fly-half.

Williams returned from an abdominal injury for Sarries while Amos caught the eye against the Warriors.
