BRITISH boxing great Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton is heading to Gwent this autumn.

The former world champion, who retired from the ring in 2012, appears at the Parkway Hotel & Spa in Cwmbran on Thursday, October 25.

The four-star AA-accredited hotel welcomes the 39-year-old for its Boxing Dinner of the Year.

One of Manchester’s finest sporting exports, Hatton will regale guests with stories from his illustrious fighting career.

His all-action style earned him a huge fan base across the globe and in 2005 he was named Fighter of the Year by The Ring magazine, the Boxing Writers’ Association of America and ESPN.

Hatton’s most high-profile fights came in Las Vegas in 2007 and 2009 when he lost to Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao respectively.

The evening in October will start at 7.30pm and include a two-course dinner, charitable raffle and auction.

There will also be a photo opportunity with Hatton prior to the main event.

Tables of 10 are available at £600 plus VAT and a quantity of individual covers on shared tables are also on offer at £60 plus VAT per person.

A limited number of Platinum tables are available at £1,000 plus VAT.

Those taking up this option will receive a selection of fine wine along with a prime location for the main event.
