WALES boss Warren Gatland has warned England they are making a “significant mistake” ahead of Saturday’s Six Nations title showdown by risking traffic chaos at Newport’s Brynglas Tunnels.

Eddie Jones' squad will travel to St David’s Hotel in Cardiff Bay after finishing their pre-match preparations at their Pennyhill Park training base in Surrey.

England have opted against a captain’s run at the Principality Stadium tomorrow, a move that came back to bite Scotland last year.

Head coach Gatland believes their build-up could be jeopardised by Friday rush hour frustration on the notorious M4 blackspot once they get over the Severn Bridge.

“I think England are making a significant mistake by travelling tomorrow, coming through Newport at about 5pm is probably not the best thing to be doing, going through the Brynglas Tunnels,” he said.

“There’s a good chance there could be tractors and buses holding them up! That’s going to be an experience for them.”

Gatland also shrugged off Jones' comments that England are facing "potentially the greatest team ever" from Wales.

“The only quotes I can see about this being the greatest Wales team are from Eddie Jones," said the New Zealander.

"It hasn’t come from anyone else so I wouldn’t be disrespectful enough to say this was the greatest Welsh team ever. It’s a long way off being the greatest Welsh team ever.

"He’s the one talking us up. I haven’t seen anyone else in the Press write it up either so I think we’re all aware we’re on a great run and we’ve done well over the last 12 months but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

"We’re just trying to keep our feet on the ground."
