A NEW-LOOK Newport back row will take to the Parc y Scarlets pitch today as Ty Morris’ men try to put the heartache of last weekend behind them with a fourth Premiership won of the season.

The Black and Ambers head west to face Llanelli after throwing away a 12-point lead with 10 minutes to go against Pontypridd at Rodney Parade six days ago.

They did pick up two points from the dramatic 37-35 defeat on home soil, but everyone in the Newport camp knows it should have been five.

The free-flowing rugby they produced has seen Morris name an unchanged backline for this afternoon’s encounter.

However, there are a couple of changes in the pack, most noticeably in the back row where captain Rhys Jenkins, Kyle Tayler and Josh Skinner all miss out.

Andrew Mann switches to the blindside from the second row, Josh Reid comes in on the openside and Garin Price takes the eight jersey.

Mann’s place at lock is taken by the returning Dan Partridge who is back in the side after injury, while Louis Jones replaces Lewis Smout in the loosehead berth.

Meanwhile, Ebbw Vale head coach Greg Woods, whose side sit two places off the foot of the table, has made just two changes for the trip north to RGC 1404.

The Steelmen travel to Colwyn Bay on the back of a much-improved display against Carmarthen Quins at Eugene Cross Park.

They showed real shots of recovery after their hiding in the cup by Cardiff, and Woods felt his men were unlucky not claim more than a losing bonus point at the end of a 26-20 reverse.

Woods brings Dragons scrum-half Dan Babos into the team for today’s showdown, while tighthead Morgan Davies replaces the suspended Rob Sevenoaks.

Down in the Championship, Gwent trio Pontypool, Bargoed and Bedwas all remain undefeated going into today’s fixtures.

Leaders Pontypool entertain Maesteg Quins, second-placed Bargoed go to Trebanos, Bedwas host Cardiff Mett and fourth Gwent club Cross Keys visit Narberth.

With Dale Rogers picking up an injury against Tata Steel, Bedwas boss Stefan Sankala has brought Owen Jones in at number eight.

Rhys Hutcherson starts at tighthead as Owen Ford misses out, and Gareth Allen replaces Matthew Bovington in the second row.

In the backs, Bradley Williams takes over the fly-half jersey with Dion McIntosh moving to the bench.

And after initial difficulties with registration issues, winger Marley Finn from Bridgnorth but studying in South Wales comes in on the right wing.
