CASTRES won in Russia against Enisei-STM but missed out on a bonus point.

The French side, who lost to the Dragons at Rodney Parade on opening weekend, had to settle for a 28-12 win in Krasnodar.

It lifts Castres above Worcester into second in Pool One of the Challenge Cup and they should make no mistake when entertaining Enisei next Friday.

However, in what is shaping up to be a tight pool they could be left to regret failing to secure the bonus at Kuban Stadium.

They struck early through hooker Jody Jenneker and kicked penalties to lead 16-7 at half-time.

The Dragons had stretched away in the second half when they travelled to Russia in round two and it looked like Castres would mirror that effort.

Camille Gerondeau barged over three minutes after the restart but the Frenchmen then got bogged down.

Enisei scored a second try to cut the gap to 23-12 but Castres' secured the win after 73 minutes when full-back Julien Caminati went over.

They kicked penalties to the corner in the last minute but blew a lineout five metres out, leaving them to settle for four points rather than five.
