DRAGONS Rugby have announced their official headline partners for the 2020/21 season.

Blister plaster specialists, Compeed®, are to become the official headline partners of the region for the second season in a row.

Compeed® will retain their place on the side of all first team jerseys and shorts while keeping the naming rights for the Compeed® Stand at Rodney Parade.

The team at Compeed® have said that they are also now planning to identify areas where they can increase engagement with the region’s fanbase, and provide wider support to community/inclusivity efforts in the 2020/21 season.

Jonathan Westwood, Commercial Director at Dragons, welcomed the extension of the partnership and new levels of support.

“I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to CEO David Wright and HRA Pharma, the brand owner of Compeed, for not only initially choosing to join us here at Dragons, but for also having the confidence in our vision to now increase that level of support,” he said.

“We are building something special at Dragons, underpinned by an ambitious and sustainable business model. This growth is enhanced by working alongside local Welsh based corporate partners and attracting successful international brands such as Compeed®.

“The relationship that has been created between the teams at the Dragons and Compeed® is testament to a shared vision of growth, and a passion for what they do.

“As the partnership continues to grow, we look forward to harnessing this energy and positive intent to drive future growth whilst supporting the vital work of our community programme.”

HRA Pharma CEO David Wright added: “Our ambitions to grow the Compeed brand across the globe mean we take great care when selecting our partners.

“The visions, values and ambition of the team at Dragons match those of our business, and we could not help but be impressed by the passion and professionalism of everyone within the organisation during our time working together to date.

“It's tremendously exciting to further consolidate our relationship by becoming the club's headline sponsor.

“Dragons are building a high-performance environment that provides opportunity and develops young local talent. Within the first year of working together we can already begin to see these efforts mature both on and off the pitch.

“The excitement of being a part of this project has already built a strong affiliation within our own Compeed Brand Team, who are all enthused about being the headline partner of the region next season.

“As our partnership continues to grow we look forward to engaging with supporters and also right across the region through the Community team.

“As the region’s new headline partner we feel this area is important, and we will work with Dragons to continue to offer support through the delivery of content, competitions and opportunities wherever we can.”
