FULL-BACK Huw Anderson will aim to continue to impress for Wales Under-20s against France in the Six Nations on Thursday, five days after making his Dragons debut.

The 19-year-old, who scored in the win against Scotland and defeat to England, was released from international duty along with captain Harri Ackerman to feature in the United Rugby Championship defeat to Ulster last Saturday.

The duo are named in the Wales XV to face the French at Cardiff Arms Park on Thursday (kick-off 7.45pm) along with Dragons lock Nick Thomas and wings Walker Price and Harry Rees-Weldon, with loosehead Jordan Morris on the bench.

Head coach Richard Whiffin is boosted by the return of influential Ospreys number eight Morgan Morse after he was rested in the loss to Ireland.

He will provide some welcome physicality against a French side who are sure to be powerful, even if they were stunned by Italy last time out.

“In loose play they are outstanding - they have some big strong carriers that will try and get them go forward and they possess good off-loading skills throughout the team,” said Whiffin.

“If we kick poorly they will be a threat but we have a game plan where we think we can challenge them aerially and on the ground.

“They are a very strong team, they have a lot of boys playing in the Top 14 and Pro D2 and we know whatever team they put out will be a tough challenge but it’s one we are looking forward to as we think there are good opportunities there for us to hurt them.

"We’re pumped about getting back to Cardiff where we hope to get some good energy in the stadium over the next two games. Hopefully we can play a brand of rugby to get the fans excited.”
