NEWPORT County AFC manager Michael Flynn has revealed that midfielder Joss Labadie is fit to play in Saturday’s League Two play-off final against Tranmere Rovers.

Labadie limped out of the semi-final second leg against Mansfield Town on May 12, but he’s back in training and will be ready to play at Wembley.

Winger Keanu Marsh-Brown is also available after the birth of his daughter Athalia on Monday night and the Exiles have no new injury worries.

“Joss is fine,” said Flynn. “There’s nothing wrong with him – he had cramp [at Mansfield] so it’s nothing to worry about. He’s fine and he’s training very well.

“As we speak, it’s a fully fit squad.”

South Wales Argus:

The only member of the squad set to miss out on the big day is back-up goalkeeper Nick Townsend, who is still ruled out with a bicep injury.

County have been training at the Cardiff City Stadium since Monday and Flynn believes the first-class facilities will get his players in the right frame of mind for Saturday.

“It’s a fantastic facility and it’s very generous of Cardiff to help us out,” he said.

“I’d like to say thank you to Ken Choo, Neil Warnock and Ronnie Jepson.

“It’s good to have those sorts of people who support you and are willing to help you out when you need it.

“We wanted to try to train somewhere that would prepare the boys for the right environment and that’s what the Cardiff City Stadium will do.”

Flynn is confident that his players will handle the big occasion.

“We can prepare them as best we can but ultimately, once they cross that line, they’ve got to make their own decisions,” he said.

“As well as intelligence and patterns of play and philosophies, they’ve got to be able to handle the occasion and stand up and be counted.

“I think there’s only three players in the squad who haven’t played at Wembley.

“That can help with the pre-match nerves, but it’s whoever handles the occasion the best who will come out on top.”
