NEWPORT County AFC star Josh Sheehan is targeting another win in Brighton tonight as the Exiles look to build momentum ahead of their return to League Two action on Saturday.
County have lost three successive league matches to drop to 11th in the table ahead of their weekend trip to seventh-placed Bradford City.
But they bounced back from a disappointing home defeat to Oldham Athletic with a 1-0 victory in the FA Cup on Friday night, thanks to Padraig Amond's stoppage-time winner at Maldon & Tiptree.
And Sheehan hopes they can keep the feelgood factor going with a win over Brighton & Hove Albion under-21s in tonight’s Leasing.com Trophy second-round tie (kick-off 7pm).
The midfielder told iFollowExiles: “You want to win every single game, regardless of whether it’s League Two, FA Cup, Carabao Cup or the Leasing.com Trophy.
“We just want to go into the game with Brighton under-21s and win it to take the momentum of the two cup games into the weekend against Bradford.
“We’re disappointed with our league form because we feel like we should have picked up more points than we have.
“We haven’t performed to our levels in the past few weeks but we’ll be looking to take some cup form back into the league.”

County were 3-1 winners on their only other trip to the Amex as they beat Brighton in the League Cup back in August 2013.
And Sheehan is looking forward to the experience: “I’ve played at the Amex before when I was with Swansea under-23s and it is a lovely modern stadium.
“A lot of the boys will enjoy the experience, especially if there’s a few young boys who travel with us as well.
“It’ll be a big step for them to see the big grounds of the Premier League but everyone will be looking forward to it.”
Sheehan also paid tribute to the fans who travelled to Maldon on Friday.
“Fair play to the supporters, they were unbelievable,” he said. “The game was on TV and they could have used that as an excuse but they didn’t, they chose to support us and it really drove us on in the last few minutes to score the goal.”
