NEWPORT County fans can get their hands on an early Christmas present at Rodney Parade this weekend.

Club partner Paddy Power is giving away 700 Exiles home shirts for free when Michael Flynn’s side host Stevenage on Saturday.

The jerseys will be available to anyone in possession of a valid match or season ticket on a first come, first served basis.

Only one amber top per fan is permitted and supporters are being encouraged to arrive as early as possible to give themselves the best chance of collecting a shirt.

Once collected, no refunds or returns will be accepted either on the day or from the Kingsway club shop after the match.

“We would like to thank our official club partner Paddy Power for this fantastic early Christmas present!” said the club.

Meanwhile, My Discombobulated Brain, the Welsh charity aiming to tackle the stigma associated with mental health and offer support and education to those affected by these issues, is to work alongside County with regular drop-in sessions at Bar Amber.

These will run on the first Wednesday (noon-2pm) and third Thursday (4.30pm-6.30pm) of each month, starting on January 8.

Charity founder Laura Dernie said: “We are very proud of all the work that we do with Newport County AFC, however, being able to use Bar Amber and give the fans a ‘safe space’ to talk about how they are feeling is something that we are very proud to do.

“We know through personal experience that talking can really help you and having that ‘safe space’ can make the difference.”

County's equality and diversity director Colin Faulkner added: "As an EFL member it is vital we use our status to assist people in our community with their mental health issues and improve their wellbeing."
