OUT-OF-FAVOUR Newport County AFC striker Dominic Poleon has been shipped out to National League side Dover Athletic on loan for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Exiles as a free agent in September, has made just three starts under Michael Flynn, all coming in the Leasing.com Trophy.

The former Crawley Town, Bradford City and AFC Wimbledon forward has come off the bench a further nine times but is yet to score a goal in County colours.

In Dover, loan signing Poleon joins a club just three points off the National League play-offs under former Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler.

Poleon, who began his professional career at Leeds United, will be in contention for Dover’s trip to fellow promotion hopefuls Stockport County this Saturday.

Flynn said: “This move will give Dom a good opportunity to go out and play regular football. I wish him and Dover all the best until the end of the season.”

Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer has also joined Dover on loan until the end of the season.
